On-Call Human Resources Admin Assistant (Lake View Terrace, CA)

(On-Call) Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Human Resources Admin Assistant will support the regional HR functions, providing guidance to employees and administrative assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • File documents into staff folders.
  • Assemble personnel file folders.
  • Audit files.
  • Package and archive older discharged files.
  • Assist with maintenance of personnel files.
  • Adhere to and promote the Phoenix House mission and values. 

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • HR and HRIS experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality relating to compensation, future management decisions and/or changes, and sensitive employee issues.  Discuss related matters up the organizational hierarchy, and not with subordinates and coworkers.
  • Skillful at multitasking and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent time-management, decision-making and organization skills.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the general public and to use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
