Psychologist

(Part-Time Contractor) Phoenix House is currently in search of an experienced Psychologist who is licensed in the state of California. Reporting to the Program Director, the Psychologist will assist with individual and group supervision of interns We are an in custody adolescent probation program that uses sound principles of psychology and mental health to assist our patients and improve their quality of life. As a contributing member to the primary care team, the Psychologist will work closely with Clinicians to help manage the psychosocial aspects of chronic and acute medical conditions. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to apply solution-focused principles to improve poor health habits and minimize patient risk.

COMPENSATION

$50 hr.

SCHEDULE

Mondays & Tuesdays

  • Individual supervision for interns
  • Group Supervision for interns
  • Complete Quarterly Evaluations for interns
  • Review and complete incoming intern application ratings
  • Any other internship program requirement

 Fridays

  • Monthly supervisor and intern meetings
  • Incoming Intern Interview in January
  • February Friday Formal Case Presentations with interns
  • Any APA required meetings for APA Site Visit
  • Provide Friday didactic training

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide effective individual, family and group psychotherapy
  • Determine realistic goals for psychotherapy
  • Perform psycho-diagnostic evaluations
  • Supervise staff, fellows and interns
  • Attend program development for patients treated or evaluated
  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient needs when devising and implementing treatment
  • Provide team consultation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Current state license
  • 2 years' experience in clinical psychology, primary care or behavioral medicine preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in individual, group, couples and family psychology
  • Demonstrated skill in supervision of clinical staff and trainees
  • Proven experience in administering findings of current studies into clinical curriculum
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
