POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Program Director, the Outpatient Coordinator is responsible for the clinical, administrative and budgetary operations of the Adolescent Outpatient Substance Abuse programs.  This position oversees the providing of all outpatient services including outreach, screening assessment, habilitative and rehabilitative services, recovery and treatment planning, educational sessions, and vocational planning.  The position also maintains responsibility for upholding all relevant regulations established by the State, County or Federal Government. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall reasonability for planning, development, supervision and coordination of policies and procedures within the outpatient treatment program.
• Monitors and ensures contract requirements are met as defined by the Alcohol and Drug Program Administration and other agencies as appropriate.
• Ensures all required reports for governing or funding agencies are completed in accurate and timely fashion.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with multiple referral sources.
• Attend and participates in designated meetings, conferences, speaking engagements and media appearances as required.
• Supervises a staff of outpatient counselors responsible for maintaining case load of client substance abusers, records activities and progress of clients in charts in a timely manner.  Participates in case management and staff meetings,
• Directs staff by assigning specific duties and issuing written or verbal instructions.
• Monitors and conducts case management and staff meetings, creates treatment plans with clients, liaison with Probation/Parole Officer or as applicable regarding client progress.
• Reviews and approves all clinical documentation (treatment progress, treatment plans, and client coordination of care plan) and conducts regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews to ensure that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis and that all governing agency regulations are fulfilled.
• Responsible for the development and coordination of community involvement, outreach and support.
• Supervises and may perform one-to-one counseling, supervises and/or participates in group encounters, supervises and/or participates in all official functions of the program including community group meetings, public speaking engagements, and other functions.
• Assess and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of staff; develop methods to utilize and enhance strengths, isolate and minimize weaknesses.
• Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time
• Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings
• Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent in this position has supervise MFT/MSW trainees and SUD counselors

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

·  Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field

·  LMFT or LCSW with current California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) Registration preferred

·  Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment.

·  Two (2) years post licensure highly preferred

·  Experience in Substance Abuse or Mental Health preferred

·  Experience with SAPC, DMH, Community Care Licensing, and other governing bodies preferred

·  Evidenced-Based Trained/Certified in TF-CBT, SS Preferred

·  Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy

·  Understanding of addiction, co-occurring models, and treatment modalities

·  Understanding of adult/adolescent development and family systems

·  Excellent time management and organizational skills

·  Ability to be flexible; problem solver, self-directed; customer service-oriented, and collaborative

·  Skills and ability to engage and develop a rapport with patients and families of various backgrounds

·  Bilingual in Spanish preferred
